Keyboards should be cleaned with "spray-n-wipe" cleaner and a cloth or tissue on a monthly basis. Ensure that computer is not powered up while cleaning the keyboard. Compressed air can also be used to clean between the keyboard keys. Clean the keys with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Modern keyboards are easy to disassemble

The top and bottom covers will easily come apart
Remove the thin film board and the rubber moulds
Remove the pc board with cable
You can wash the keys and covers in water using soap and a sponge

Allow to dry overnight before reassembly

If you find your mouse pointer behaving erratically, for example jumping around on the screen, then it's possible that the registry settings for your mouse device have become corrupted.

1. Open Registry Editor

2. Find the key HKCU\Control Panel\Mouse

3. Delete this key

4. Log off Windows and log on again

When you log back on, Windows will automatically re-create this registry key
